The Bible

We believe in the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only inspired, infallible, inerrant (trustworthy, accurate) Word of God. The Bible is the believer’s guide for faith and practice. The believer is brought to maturity in Christ through the teaching, correcting, restoring, and sustaining Truth that is the Word of God.

John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

The Trinity

We believe in the Trinity, the triune God in one divine nature, existing in a unity of three distinct and equal persons. God has revealed Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, being co-eternal, co-existent, and co-reigning. We believe God is holy, eternal, infinite, immutable (changeless, not subject to variations), righteous, just, personal, loving, and sovereign.

Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; John 6:27; John 1:1-3; Acts 5:3-4; James 1:17

Deity of Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His personal and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His priestly intercession on our behalf, and in His imminent and personal return in power and glory.

John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25; Revelation 1:7

Fallen Nature of Mankind

We believe in the complete fallen nature of mankind into sin and death. We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith in Christ alone is absolutely essential for the complete redemption of each person.

Romans 3:21-26; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 2:8-10

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who leads and enables the believer to live the Christian life. The Holy Spirit is active in creation, in revelation and inspiration, in baptism and anointing. We believe in the Holy Spirit’s past, present, and ongoing work in the world, and His ministries with respect to the church. We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit with regard to salvation, the sealing of the saints, and His part in gifting and empowering every believer with spiritual gifts for service.

John 15:26-16:15; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; Romans 8:1-11; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Corinthians 1:22; 2 Timothy 2:19

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved into the resurrection of eternal life, and those that are lost into the resurrection of eternal judgment.

Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15

Body of Christ

The church is the body of Christ. We believe Christ’s universal church is God’s plan on this present earth. We also believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Jesus Christ in both the local church and the church universal. Because Jesus Christ is the head of each local church we also believe this local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.

Psalm 133:1; Matthew 16:15-18; 1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:3, 13, 30; Colossians 1:18; Philippians 1:27

Baptism & Lord's Supper

We believe that Baptism and the observance of the Lord’s Supper are the recognized sacraments of this church age.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 6:3-4; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
